How do I update my phone number to continue receiving two-step verification codes?

Updated over a week ago

Keeping your phone number up to date is crucial for securing your accounts with two-step verification.

If you're logged into your KOHO account:

  1. You can update your phone number in-app.

  2. Go to the Profile page in the top left-hand corner > select Personal Details

  3. You will need to be on a verified device to update your phone number

    1. Important: Your new phone number must be an active Canadian number that can receive SMS messages. VoIP or text app numbers, or numbers with an inactive SIM, may not receive verification codes.

If you're unable to log in due to two-step verification, we'll just need a photo of your government-issued photo ID and/or a video selfie to verify you 👍

  1. You will be asked to provide a verification code, either from an authenticator app or sent to your phone number. Follow the in-app instructions and choose Verify via another method

  2. To verify your identity, provide a photo of your government-issued photo ID and/or a video selfie

  3. It may take a few minutes to verify your identity. Feel free to come back to the in-app page in a couple of minutes to check on the status of your account verification.

  4. You will be redirected back into the app successfully 🙌

  5. To update your phone number, go to the Profile page in the top left corner and select Personal Details. Ensure you're using a verified device to make this update.

Having trouble confirming your identity? Feel free to reach out to our support team in the KOHO app or by emailing us at [email protected]. We'll ask you for some additional details to help you get back into your account 🙂
