How do I verify my KOHO account?

Before we can complete your account, we need to verify your identity. This will let us build a secure profile + protect you from fraud. It also unlocks the full benefits of your KOHO card.

Verification is typically done in-app and you will receive an automatic prompt to complete the verification process upon your next login.


Your identity may be verified automatically if you have an adequate credit file where the name, address, and date of birth match what you used to sign up for KOHO.
To verify your identity with Selfie you'll need a valid government-issued photo ID and a working camera on your mobile device. Here is a list of submissions we can accept as long as they are not expired:

  • your Canadian or foreign passport

  • your driver’s license or provincial photo ID card

  • your Permanent Resident card or secure version of the Indian Status Card

  • a provincial health card with a photo from Quebec or British Columbia

If you don’t have your photo ID available, you can also link your bank account. Your name on your bank account or document must match the name on your KOHO account.
