Important: Joint accounts are not yet available on all accounts. We’re gradually rolling them out and will notify you once they’re ready for you.
KOHO Joint accounts let two people manage money together. You can both send e-Transfers, pay bills, and set up automatic payments without any extra steps. Once the account is set up, either of you can move money or make payments from the shared balance.
Here’s how to use your Joint account to send or spend money.
Send an e-Transfer from your Joint account
In the KOHO app:
Tap Send money.
Enter the name and email of the person you want to send money to.
Enter the amount you want to send.
Create a security question and answer if the recipient doesn’t have auto-deposit enabled.
If the recipient is already using KOHO, you’ll see an option to send a KOHO to KOHO (K2K) transfer instead. You can choose to send a regular e-Transfer by selecting "Send an e-Transfer instead" on the final confirmation page.
Carefully review all the details, including the recipient's name. (Once saved, the name can’t be changed.)
Tap Send.
You’ll get a confirmation email when the transfer goes through. Both of you can see the transaction in your KOHO history.

Set up a PAD (Pre-Authorized Debit)
In the KOHO app, tap the $ icon > Pay Bills > Get account info.
Use the account info shown (institution and branch number) to set up a PAD with your service provider.
PADs work the same for Joint accounts as individual ones. Both names will appear on the account.
For more information and limits, see our full PAD setup guide.
Pay a bill from your Joint account
In the KOHO app, tap the $ icon > Pay Bills.
Search for the company you want to pay.
Enter your account number with that company.
Choose the amount and date.
Confirm the details and submit.
