How to add money to your Joint account

Updated over a week ago

Important: Joint accounts are not yet available on all accounts. We’re gradually rolling them out and will notify you once they’re ready for you.

Once your Joint account is set up, adding funds is easy, and either of you can do it. You both have equal access to the account, which means you can each spend from the shared balance, move money, and manage savings together.

You’ve got two main options:

1. Move money from your Personal account

  • Tap the $ symbol > Move to joint

  • Enter the amount you want to transfer
Just a heads-up: You can only transfer money from your Spendable balance. If your money is in Cover, it can’t be moved to your Joint account.

2. Set up Direct Deposit to your Joint account

You can have all or part of your paycheque automatically sent to your Joint account.

To do this, use the transit, institution, and account numbers linked to your Joint account. You can copy these or download the PDF to share with your employer. See how to set up direct deposit.

Can I use e-Transfer to load my Joint account?

Not directly. Instead, send the e-Transfer to your Personal account, then move the funds to your Joint account in-app. Here's how to do it.
