All transactions start as authorizations, and merchants have 7 business days to settle the transactions & collect the funds. If they don't, the funds expire (are refunded) back into your account.

We see this commonly with merchants who are shipping a product to you.

Some merchants settle charges upon shipping, and so shipping delays caused by may be the reason the authorization expired. If the merchant confirms your order is still in process, then we recommend keeping this amount in your KOHO account, as the merchant will process a force-posted settlement (meaning they will come back to collect the funds) when the product ships.

If you're waiting on an authorization to expire, once again the timeframe is up to 7 business days. We are unfortunately unable to manually expire transactions from our side.

Please note: Although force posted transaction may push your balance into the negative, KOHO generally does not allow overdraft.
