What is a pending charge?
A pending charge is a temporary hold placed by a merchant on your account to ensure funds are available for a transaction. This occurs when a transaction has been authorized but not yet settled.
Why can't the KOHO support team cancel pending charges?
Our support team can't cancel pending charges because the merchant controls these holds. The funds have been earmarked for a specific transaction and are awaiting final settlement. Once the merchant finalizes the transaction, the pending status will be updated.
We kindly ask that you wait until the transaction settles or expires.
What happens to pending charges?
Pending charges usually convert into actual charges once the transaction is processed and finalized by the merchant. If the transaction is not completed, the pending charge will typically be released, and the funds will return to your available balance. This process can take a few days, depending on your bank's policies.
You can check your transaction feed to see the latest status of the charge!
How long do pending charges last?
Pending charges are typically resolved within 7 days for regular purchases and up to 16 days for car rentals and hotel deposits. If the merchant does not complete the transaction, the hold will automatically expire and the funds will be released.
