Fraud Case
What it means: You did not authorize the transaction and do not recognize the merchant.
Example:
Your card was stolen and used at a gas station
Someone guessed your card number and used it online
Tip: Check the transaction time and see if you've ever bought from that merchant before, especially with recurring payments.
Dispute Case
What it means: You authorized the transaction, but something went wrong with the purchase or how you were charged.
Example:
You ordered something that never arrived
You got charged twice for the same thing
The final amount is higher than what you agreed to
What you received isn’t what you ordered
You were charged after cancelling a subscription
