Cover is a subscription bundle that gives you access to a **no-interest cash advance** when you need extra support, along with additional financial benefits. Think of Cover as an **overdraft buffer and financial safety net**. If your Spendable balance reaches $0, Cover can help prevent declined transactions by allowing eligible purchases to draw from your available Cover balance.

All Cover bundles include:

*   Credit Score & Report
*   Fast Lane Support
*   Financial Coaching

Higher Cover bundles may also include Partner Cashback and discounted Cyber Protection through CyberScout. The specific benefits available depend on the Cover bundle you choose.

* **Web**: Log in → Click three lines in top right corner → Select "Cover"

## **What happens when I sign up for Cover?**

Once you subscribe, your selected cash advance amount is immediately added to your available Cover balance.

Your Cover balance is displayed separately from your Spendable balance so you can clearly see how much of your available funds come from Cover.

## How does my Cover balance work?

Your Cover balance acts as a separate overdraft buffer that can be used when your Spendable balance is insufficient.

### When making purchases

1. Funds are first taken from your Spendable balance.
2. If your Spendable balance reaches $0, eligible transactions will draw from your available Cover balance.

### When adding money to your KOHO account

1. Your outstanding Cover balance is replenished first.
2. Any remaining funds are added to your Spendable balance.

This includes money added through:

*   Direct deposits
*   E-Transfers
*   Debit card loads
* Transfers from Goals or Vault
*   RoundUps transfers
*   Cash back withdrawals
* Credit Building and Secure Credit Building withdrawals

* * *

## Where can I see my Cover balance?

You can view your Cover balance in both the KOHO mobile app and KOHO web experience.

Your Cover balance is displayed separately from your Spendable balance, giving you more visibility into your available funds.

* * *

## How can I use my Cover balance?

You can use Cover for everyday spending, including:

*   Purchases
*   Bill payments
*   Pre-authorized payments
*   Recurring subscriptions
*   ATM withdrawals

Cover can also help prevent declined transactions when your Spendable balance reaches $0.

* * *

## Are there limitations to using Cover?

Yes. Cover funds cannot be used for:

*   Sending Interac e-Transfers
*   Sending KOHO-to-KOHO (K2K) transfers
*   Funding Goals or Vaults
*   Earning interest
*   Purchasing cryptocurrency

* * *

## Are Cover funds taxable?

No. Cover funds are considered a cash advance (loan) and not income, so they are not taxable.

* * *

## Will Cover affect my credit score?

We do not perform a credit check when determining eligibility for Cover.

However, if your Cover balance remains unpaid for **three months or longer**, we may report the delinquency to the credit bureau, Equifax.

* * *

## How much does Cover cost?

Cover requires a monthly subscription fee based on the bundle you select.

The subscription fee is automatically collected each month from your Spendable balance. If you have a backup payment method on file, it may also be used to collect the fee when eligible.

If a payment attempt fails, we'll continue trying to collect the fee for up to **three days** whenever funds become available.

If we're unable to collect the fee after the retry period, your Cover subscription may be cancelled.

## What happens if my account goes into NSF?

If you don’t have enough money in your KOHO balance on your billing date, here’s what happens:

* KOHO will make **one scheduled attempt** on your billing date to collect your monthly Cover fee.
* If that attempt fails, KOHO will automatically collect your overdue fee **for the next 3 days** the moment you load money into your KOHO Spendable balance.
* If no funds are loaded in those first 3 days, your Cover access pauses, and you enter a 30-day grace period **that already includes those 3 days**.
* If your overdue fee isn’t paid within 30 days, your account becomes overdue on your **entire Cover loan**. This means the full remaining loan balance will be collected the next time you add money, and your Cover subscription will be cancelled. You’ll need to fully repay the loan before you can rejoin Cover.

**✅ Example:** Your billing date is **March 1**. KOHO tries to collect the fee from **March 1–3**. If no funds are loaded, Cover pauses on **March 4**, and your **30-day grace period runs March 1–30**. During this time, KOHO will automatically collect the overdue fee the next time you load funds. Once the fee is collected, your Cover access reactivates automatically.

## Can my Cover limit increase?

Possibly. Cover limits are determined by our eligibility system and may increase, decrease, or remain unchanged over time based on factors such as account activity, spending behaviour, repayment history, and overall risk profile.

Because eligibility is determined automatically, our Support team cannot manually increase Cover limits.

## How can I continue using Cover?

As long as your subscription remains active and your account remains in good standing, you'll continue to have access to your Cover balance.

When you add money to your KOHO account, your Cover balance is automatically replenished before any remaining funds become available in your Spendable balance.
