Updated over 8 months ago

We offer a variety of ways to load your KOHO account via Interac® e-Transfer!

Option 1: Using your unique KOHO email address

  1. Log into your KOHO app > click Add money > e-Transfer > KOHO (Instant). Or Log into KOHO Web > Add Funds > e-Transfer funds to your account

  2. Make a note of your unique e-Transfer email address listed under “copy & paste this email”

  3. Open up the bank institution you’re with (Ie. CIBC, BMO, TD, etc), and go to your e-Transfer section.

  4. Create a new contact under the name of KOHO with your unique e-Transfer email you copied from the KOHO app.

  5. Send e-Transfer!

Please note: It's not possible to deregister/disconnect your unique KOHO e-Transfer email from auto-deposit.

Option 2: Set-up auto-deposit with your KOHO account

  1. Log into your KOHO app > click Add money > e-Transfer > scroll down to Personal > set-up Autodeposit

  2. Enter the primary email you wish to register for auto-deposit

  3. Check your inbox for the verification email, and click the link to complete the registration

  4. Done!

All future Interac® e-Transfers sent to that email address will be deposited to your KOHO account.

You can register and deregister your personal email for auto-deposit to KOHO at any time in-app.

Option 3: Deposit to your KOHO account from the Interac® portal

When receiving an Interac® e-Transfer (from yourself or someone else) you can choose to deposit those funds to KOHO from Interac®'s portal:

Tip: If you need to create a security answer/password, don't use any special characters (-, !, ?), otherwise the e-Transfer will be declined.

If your e-Transfer isn't Loading:

Check that the notification type is Email and not Phone/SMS when creating the e-transfer to send to KOHO.

Some banks and credit unions do not support auto-deposit (the most common are listed below):

  • Manulife Bank of Canada

  • Laurentian Bank of Canada

  • Caisse populaire Alliance limitée

  • UNI Financial Cooperation

  • Tignish Credit Union Ltd

  • Access Credit Union

Any e-Transfers that are not auto-deposit enabled can take up to 30 minutes. If you would like your funds sooner, please try using our debit card loading instead.
