What is cash back?
Updated this week

You can get cash back on select purchases with your KOHO card! You'll see the cash back in your "Spend" tab once your purchase is marked as "settled" on your feed.

Want to know how much cash back you can earn? In-app, just tap Cash back and look under My cash back rate. For details on the rate, press the question mark button (?) next to the cash back rate for more information.

To earn extra cash back, we have partner cash back too!

You can also earn 2% cash back on select spending categories when you sign up for a KOHO Everything account 💎

How does cash back work?

To determine the cash back rate, it is dependent on the merchant category code (MCC) that the merchant uses to classify themselves at the time of purchase. The MCC is determined at the merchant level and could be unique to the merchant location or the payment terminal.

For example: If you recently made a purchase with Walmart, they may have the merchant category code as Retail. However, if you went to a different Walmart or pay terminal, they may classify themselves as Groceries.
