Does KOHO process transactions on Canadian banking holidays?
No, on Canadian public holidays (and Sundays), KOHO pauses direct deposits and certain other transactions, similar to traditional banks.
What happens if my payday falls on a holiday?
If your payday lands on a banking holiday:
Your deposit may arrive the business day before, if it was processed early, or
The next business day, once banking systems resume
Timing can vary depending on when the payer submits the deposit.
Which holidays does KOHO follow?
KOHO follows the Bank of Canada’s holiday schedule. This includes holidays such as:
New Year’s Day
Good Friday
Canada Day
Labour Day
Christmas Day
Upcoming Christmas & New Year Closures
As per the Payments Canada schedule, banking systems will be closed on:
Christmas Day: Thursday, December 25
Boxing Day: Friday, December 26
New Year’s Day: Thursday, January 1
On these dates, KOHO will not receive direct deposit files, which may result in deposits or updates being processed on the next business day.
For the most accurate and up-to-date holiday dates, we recommend checking the Bank of Canada holiday calendar.
