When can I expect to receive my Government Benefit direct deposit?

Updated yesterday

Government payments don’t always show up in your KOHO account at the exact time you expect them. Even if they usually arrive like clockwork, a delay of up to 2 business days is still considered completely normal by the CRA and benefit issuers.

These payments go through several processing steps before they reach your bank account, which means small timing shifts can happen from month to month. You can refer to the CRA Benefit payment dates.

How long can government deposits take?

Government issuers (CRA, Service Canada, ODSP, etc.) state that deposits can take up to 2 business days to fully process and appear in your bank account, even when everything is working normally.

A delay of 1–2 business days is not considered a missing or failed payment.

What you can do right now?

If your payment is scheduled for today and isn’t showing yet:

  • Don’t worry, this timing is still normal

  • Your deposit may arrive later today, overnight, or within the next 1–2 business days

If it’s still missing after the 2-business days, reach out and we’ll start an investigation right away.

When is KOHO able to investigate my missing direct deposit?

KOHO can only investigate once 2+ business days have passed since the scheduled deposit date. When that time comes, you’ll need to request the 22-digit trace number (starting with 621) from the CRA or benefit issuer, this is the official banking tracking ID for your payment.

Once you have it, we can dig in right away.
